By James Robinson, CNBC.comThe Ethereum Classic blockchain has now raised $7.8 million in an ICO led by Ethereum Inc. The cryptocurrency platform that has become a global financial force has raised $15 million in a crowdsale and raised $10 million in early sales.
The total value of all ICOs is now in excess of $100 billion.
The Ethereum Foundation has said the platform has “exceeded the vision” of its founder Vitalik Buterin, who is currently in residence at the U.S. Embassy in London.
Ethereum Classic raised $1.4 million in the crowdsale, according to the latest data from CoinMarketCap.
The blockchain platform has been trading at around $13 per coin.
The platform has raised a total of $15.8 billion, according the data.
The token is not regulated by any country and the token is backed by the Ethereum network.
It was created in 2015 as a way to fund Ethereum-powered applications and businesses.
The ICO launched on Monday and has now closed its first round of funding.
The company raised a record $2.7 million in its first three days of trading, according a news release from the Ethereum Foundation.
In addition to the $7 million raised by Ethereum Classic, it also raised another $1 million on Thursday.
It raised another million from more than 30 investors, according ICO-focused platform CrowdTangle.
